Bryson's 1st Halloween

For Bryson's 1st Halloween, we dressed him up as a Tiger. It's not what we wanted, but it turned out cute anyway. Our original plan was to dress him up as a lobster and have us dress as chef's and carry him around in a pot, but then we realized he was too big for the pot so we started looking for other ideas. We wanted something unique, funny and cute but couldn't agree on anything. We found this super cute Elvis costume but of course it was sold out in his size. It seemed like everything we found was sold out. We did find a baby Michael Jackson costume that was not sold out but for some reason that seemed a little too creepy. The weekend before Halloween we still didn't have a costume but I remembered that Belk had some Carter's costumes that were just pants and a jacket. Luckily they had a few left and they were on sale, regular $34 and we only paid $11! Now I'm glad we waited and it turned out super cute anyway.
On Friday the 29th, we had a parade at school and Amy was so sweet to come up there and get Bryson ready for me. She walked with him in the parade and walked by me so I could see him in his costume. Definitely the cutest baby there. Here are some pictures of him at the parade.

On the 30th, Bryson spent the night with Amy and Mark and we went to a party at a friends house. I didn't know we were going so I never bought a costume. I did find a little witch's hat headband for $5 at Walmart that I wore to be a little festive. Robert dressed at Brett Favre from the crotchless Wranglers spoof we saw on Saturday Night Live. It was pretty funny. Here are a few pictures from the party.

On Halloween, we took Bryson "trick or treating". We dressed him up and went to my parents house, then my Aunt's house and ended up at Amy and Mark's house for Bryson's 1st campfire and s'mores. We had so much fun with him this Halloween. I can't wait until next year when he can actually go door to door in his costume. Here are pictures from him trick or treating and making s'mores.

8 Months!

I can't believe Bryson is already 8 months old! He is growing up way too fast. Since I had to go back to work, I haven't had a ton of time to spend with him but thankfully he is right down the hall from me so I get to see him on my lunchbreak everyday. I will say though that I am not a fan of his teachers. The afternoon teacher is not too bad but the morning teacher is terrible! There are so many days that I leave him and go cry because I don't feel like he is loved on, talked to, or played with. Since he is so far ahead though, the school wants to move him up next month so hopefully things will get better then. We don't go back for a check up until December so I don't have all his stats but he did get weighed at one of his ear check appointments and my oh my is he a big boy. Here's what he's doing at 8 months:

-He weighs 19 pounds 5 ounces (or by now probably 20+ pounds)
-He is crawling everywhere, and is super fast! The child cannot be still!
-He can pull to standing and can also stand by himself for a little bit. It won't be long before he's walking.
-Now that he has tried table food, he now hates baby food and it's so hard to get him to eat it. He does love yogurt though.
-He has officially moved into his own room! I was a little sad about this but he is doing great, and so am I!
-He still sleeps through the night, but doesn't sleep as late. He usually goes to bed somewhere between 8:30 and 10 pm and will wake up anywhere between 4:30 am or 6am. If he wakes up at 4:30, he usually goes back to sleep. If he wakes up at 6am, it's usually because I have to wake him up so we can get to school.
-He still eats every 3 hours but he eats so weird now. Since they can't save his bottles at school if he doesn't finish them, I have to pack them all weird. His 1st bottle is 4oz and he will have that with applesauce or yogurt. His 2nd bottle is usually 6 ounces and he will have baby food not too long after that. I usually feed him on my break because for some reason he doesn't eat good for his teachers. His 3rd bottle is 8 oz and then he eats dinner with us.
-He is still on the same Similac formula but it's now called Similac for spit up. This formula recall has totally messed us up. Since they aren't making the big things of formula, we are spending a ton of  money on formula because the pre-mixed and small containers don't make anywhere near as many bottles as the big containers did. Hopefully he will either be off formula soon or the recall will be over.
-He loves puffs! He does so well eating them. We don't have to feed him at all!
-He still has blue eyes! Shocking isn't it?

I'm sure there is so much more because he is such a little busy body, but that's all I can think of right now. Here are his 8 month pictures. Now they are impossible to take since he wiggles so much. He just wants to move and cannot be still! But we did get a few good ones.
