Bryson's 1st Baseball game!

On Friday July 2, we took Bryson to his first baseball game. We went to see the Birmingham Barons play with Robbie, Martha and Will to celebrate Will's birthday! Both of the boys had such a good time and did suprisingly well! The game didn't start until 7pm and both boys go to bed around 9 so we didn't think they would last long. Suprisingly they both made it through the entire game and the fireworks! Neither of them really watched the game of course but they both loved the fireworks! It was so nice to get out and do something like that as a family. Me and Robert plan on taking Bryson again soon, maybe with Erin and Eli next time. Here are a few pictures from our fun night.

4 months!

I know, I know. A little late on this post but I wanted to wait until Bryson's 4 month appointment so I could post his 4 month stats. Robert likes to go to his appointments so since he's off on Monday's, we schedule Bryson's appointments then. Since last Monday was a holiday, yesterday was the only time we could go. He is growing up so fast! I am just amazed at how smart our little guy is getting. Yesterday he got 4 shots and an oral vaccine. They were all the same as last time except no Hepatitis shot. So far his reaction has been the same as last time, just a little bit of a fever (100.5) but you would never know unless you felt him. He is acting like the same funny little guy that he always is. So here's Bryson at 4 months:

-Weight- 15 pounds 14 ounces- 75th percentile
-Length- 25 inches- 75th percentile
-Head measurement- don't know the exact size but its in the 50th percentile
(looks like we may have a football or basketball player on our hands!)

-He began rolling over on June 15 from back to tummy as well as from tummy to back. Now he will roll around the living room all the time trying to get to a toy. The dr was very impressed with this!
-He is almost sitting up on his own. He kinda just props on his cute little fat rolls right now but he is almost all the way sitting up.
-He is laughing and giggling all the time
-He is a little chatter box
-He is trying to crawl
-He is still sleeping through the night, for the most part.
-He is still taking a bottle every 3 hours. We offer him a 6 ounce bottle, but he does not always drink that much.
-He is still getting formula but we had to switch to Similac Sensitive RS due to spit up and fussiness. It worked wonders!
-He is also still getting pumped breastmilk! Yes at 4 months I am still pumping! I'm pretty proud of myself for that one!
-He is still staying home with me and I hope it stays this way for a long time
-He has really started to enjoy certain tv shows. I feel bad sometimes letting him watch tv because of what some people say, but I grew up watching tv and turned out just fine! It's all about moderation and the tv has been great while I have been finishing up school. He loves the two Baby Einstein videos we have, Baby Neptune and World Music; he loves the Backyardigans, and me and Robert do too! He also loves Fragglerock, Seseme Street and pretty much any PBS show. (wow, that sounds like he watches tv all the time, but he doesn't, I promise)
It is so hard to believe that our little man has grown up so fast. Yesterday we got the ok to start cereal and baby food but she left that completely up to us since those are not required for nutritional purposes until they are 6 months old. Right now it is basically just for practice. Since he is so interested in how we eat, we are going to go ahead and try the rice cereal and see how it goes. It will probably be closer to 6 months before we start actual baby food which is fine, because that is when it is recommended to start. When we do start baby food, as of right now, we will be making our own. I told Robert that I feel like we are a bunch of hippies. First, breastfeeding (which I never thought I would do), then cloth diapering (which again, I never thought I would do) and now making our own baby food? Oh well, if providing the best for our child makes us a hippie, then oh well.
Here are Bryson's 4 month pictures that we took when he actually turned 4 months on the 1st.

Robert's 1st Father's Day

Since Robert made my 1st Mother's Day so special, I had to do the same for him. The only thing he asked for were Auburn tickets. I really wanted to get him tickets to the LSU game but I couldn't afford that. I chose to get tickets to the Auburn vs. Arkansas game in October. Our seats are almost on the 50 yard line and are on the 3rd row! I know that we probably could have just went down to Auburn on any weekend and try to get scalped tickets, but I wanted Robert to have good seats on a set day. I didn't want him to take off from work and us drive all the way down there only to not get tickets, or get bad tickets. I am so excited to go to this game! The weather should be perfect (as long as it does not rain). I also wanted to make him a few craft projects from Bryson. (yes, that would be the former preschool teacher in me coming out). Robert has said since the day that Bryson was born that he wanted his handprints done since they did not do them in the hospital. I bought a plaster handprint kit and with the help of my parents, we made a beautiful plaster handprint! I also found a kit to make a plaster frame. I made this his footprint and painted in orange and blue, added footballs and Auburn stickers, and put a picture of Bryson in his Auburn polo on it. It turned out great! (I don't have pictures of those, but I will try to post them as soon as we get them). Finally, I made him a desk calendar full of Bryson pictures. I dressed Bryson in Robert's football jerseys and his dress shirt and took the cutest pictures! It now sits on his desk at work for all of his co-workers to see! After Robert opened his gifts, we started preparing all the food that we were cooking for the cookout that we were having with my family. Robert cooked steaks for the dads and burgers for the moms. I even attempted to make homemade ice cream for the 1st time to go with Martha's yummy Pampered Chef brownies. After spending time with my family, we headed over to Robert's mom's neighborhood pool for Bryson's first time to swim. He loved it and I don't think he wanted to get out! Here are some pictures from that eventful day.
